The match is not over until it's over. That is what exactly happened in the finals of the 5th MPRC T20 Series between Ajit XI v Eagles XI. Ajit XI scored 133 for 6 in their 20 overs thanks mainly to Bhavinder Yadav's half century. Chasing the target, Eagles XI looked all set to clinch the title with just 28 to get of 36 deliveries and 8 wickets in hand. Eagles XI then got a bit complacent and some inspired bowling from Parveen got Ajit XI back in the game and eventually winning it by 6 runs

Technavia v Palm Hills Technavia won the toss and elected to bat first. The openers Kuldeep and Pramod started cautiously. It seemed like they had a plan in mind not to lose wicket initially with the new ball and then score with freedom once they are set. It worked perfectly for them, after scoring just 8 from first 3 overs, they took their team to 63 in 10. The openers put on 83 for the first wicket with main contribution coming from Kuldeep. In the final phase of the innings Parthi and Ashish struck some lusty blows to take the team to 163 in 20 overs. Palm Hills started on decent note scoring 36 from first 6. Parthi bowled brilliantly with the new ball conceding just 2 from his first 2 overs. After Parthi, Rajeev and Pramod bowled with excellent control. And made it difficult for Palm Hills to keep up with the required rate. Almost all the batsmen had starts but were not able to make a big contribution which was needed to chase down the target. Abhishek gave the finishing touches to Technavia bowling taking 4 wickets and helped his team bowl out Palm Hills for 104. Man of the Match - Kuldeep Power Performer - Pramod and Vivek Best Fielder - Rajeev

Mewat Royals and MSD Fan Club This match too looked impossible because of on and off spells of rain and the delay. But around 12 the Sun came out smiling bringing respite for everyone. Here too both the team needs to be appreciated for making an adjustments to their schedule as the match started at 1:30. We were now back on the main wicket. Mewat Royals won the toss and had not hesitancy in batting first. But things didn't go as per plan as they lost both their openers inside first four overs with just 13 on the board. After the initial loss of wickets, Mewat Royals didn't find it easy and kept losing wickets at regular intervals. Jassi played the lone warrior for them with 41. A little cameo in the end by Abdul and Zahid took the team to some respectable score of 134. MSD Fan Club too started badly losing their opener in the first over. The delight for Mewat was short lived though as Monti and Sukhdev batted fluently to take the score to 50 in 7 overs. Mewat did make a come back with double strike in the middle overs but Tushar and Monti counter attacked to take 43 of the next 4 overs. Mewat bowlers had no answers to MSD batsmen. MSD chased down the target in 16th over. Man of the Match - Monti Power Performer - Jassi and Sukhdev Best Fielder - Tushar

Team Revivals v Lavanya All Stars In the morning just before the match, the storm swept away the covers and a little rain made wicket tough to play. We were all set to cancel the match. However, both teams decided to play on the adjacent wicket which was used for open nets couple of days back. After an hour rolling, both the teams were ready to play. Would like to say big thanks to the captains and their entire team for making a match possible. The match finally started after around 2 hours delay and Team Revivals opted to bat first. Lavanya All Stars bowlers found it tough to control the ball and didn't start well conceding numerous extras through wides. In the 4th over the finally found control and got three wickets in quick time. Analysing the wicket, captain Saurabh along with Shivam played with soft hands and kept rotating the strike. They knew that anything around 150 will be tough to get. And they were well on course to achieve that. But Ajay and Anubhav had other ideas, they played attacking shots from the outset and helped their team score 41 runs in the last 3 overs and took the team to 181. Lavanya started well with Ishal who played some delightful shots. But didn't get much support at the other end as Revival bowlers bowled with tight line and length ably supported by their fielders. Apart from Ishal, only Abhishek and Sharad could manage to score in double figures. In the end Lavanya could only manage 124 from their 20 overs. Man of the Match - Saurabh Arora Power Performer - Anubhav & Ishal Best Fielder - Lilu

Wreckers CC v Beasts XI Wreckers were playing their first match of the tournament while Beasts XI started with a victory in their first match. Wreckers won the toss and elected to bat first. Abhinav started well with the ball and bowling a maiden wicket over accounting for Vinit. Mukesh too bowled with the new ball but once Manas and Vipul had gone through the first few overs they scored quickly. Manas played some delightful shots through covers but lost his wicket in the 8 over. Vipul kept one end tight while Hemant and Sumit Rai played little cameos to take the score to 155. Chasing the target Beasts got off to a bad start losing both their openers to Manas. Manas then took two excellent catches to make things worse for Beasts. After the initial loss of wickets, Beasts could not make a comeback and were bowled out for 85 in 16.4 overs. Man of the Match - Manas Power Performers - Vipul & Abhinav Best Fielder - Manas

Inferno v Mewat Royals Mewat Royals needed to make a comeback with the bat after their last match loss to Gurgaon Warriors. Raj Butt the captain lead from the front cracking boundaries from the very first over. However, his partner at the other end struggled to even score at run a ball which kept the scoring rate in check. After losing the openers, Mewat Royals did not have any answer to fine bowling by Inferno bowlers and found it tough to set a competitive score. Only Shahid with a couple of big hits in the end could help take team total to 134. With rain looming, both the teams knew of a curtailed match which could well be decided by DLS method. Mewat started brilliantly conceding just 14 runs off the first 3 overs and taking a wicket. We needed minimum 5 overs to get a result, in which case Inferno needed 12 from 12 without losing a wicket. In the next couple of overs Mewat dropped couple of catches and Inferno batsmen Ashwin and Karan made full use of it. The rain came at the end of 8th over. The target in this case was 44. Inferno by then had scored 67 for 2. Man of the Match - Karan Power Performers - Ashwin & Raj Butt Best Fielder - Aashish Anjana

The Amigos v Lavanya All Stars The Amigos won the toss and elected to bat first but the decision proved to be wrong as they lost 2 wickets inside first 3 overs at the score of 10. They lost another wicket in the 7th over with just 30 on the board. In came the Captain Himanshu who had a point to prove that his decision was correct and started cautiously with Sunil taking singles and getting occasional boundaries. After the loss of Sunil in the 12th over, he decided to cut lose and scored with freedom. He ended with 89 of 50 deliveries with 13 fours and 2 sixes taking his team score to 161. Lavanya did not start well either and lost two wickets in the first over itself. After the initial setback, they kept losing wickets and only Divye could manage to score in double figures. Lavanya ware eventually bowled out for 64. Wickets were shared by all the bowlers used by Amigos. Man of the Match - Himanshu Power Performers - Sarthak & Sunil Best Fielder - Amit

Gurgaon Warriors v Mewat Royals Gurgaon Warriors won the toss and elected to bat first. On a damp wicket, Warriors started their innings on a positive note with Kunwar Raj hitting three boundaries in the first two overs. But could not control a back foot punch to a ball which stuck into the wicket a bit. Analyzing the wicket, warriors then used a cautious approach with main focus on singles and occasional boundaries which might come. Rahul Nair played this role brilliantly. KK Beniwal then provided the late impetus to the innings with a quick fire 27. Rahul Nair ended with a score of 45 of 47. Anjum who was used as the fifth bowler kept picking vital wickets in the end to keep the Warriors score to just 145. Mewat Royals needed to capitalize on the powerplay but Warriors new ball bowlers didn't allow them too many lose deliveries. Opening pair of Zair and Raj bhat could only manage 35 from the first 6. After the powerplay in an attempt to increase the run rate Royals started losing wickets and at regular intervals. Only Anjum played a little cameo in the end scoring 22 of 13. Vaibhav accounted for 4 wickets giving away just 16 runs from his 3.5 overs. Man of the Match Rahul Nair Power Performers Vaibhav and Anjum Best Fielder Raghav

Gurgaon Warriors v MSD Fan Club Once again Gurgaon Warriors won the toss and elected to bat first. This time with a new opening combination of Raghav and Ankur Jain. Both put on a 93 runs opening stand for the warriors with the major share coming from Raghav who got out for 57. Warriors looked all set to post in access of 180 but brilliant spell for left arm spin bowling from Arpit restricted the score to just 164. Arpit took 4 wickets in his spell of 4 overs including a maiden. MSD Fan Club's chase started horribly losing both their openers for duck. Captain Sukhdev and Karan kept them in the hunt though with a 80 runs partnership which came in just 60 balls. But once Sukhdev got out on 47, there was little support for Karan who made 50. KK Beniwal picked up 4 wickets to limit the MSD Fan Club's score to just 121. Man of the Match Raghav Power Performers KK Beniwal and Arpit Best Fielder Monti

Beasts XI v Palm Hills XI Toss was won by Beasts XI and their was no hesitancy in opting to bat first. However, things didn't go as per plan as they lost 3 wickets inside first six overs. From there Abhishek Singh and Pushpender put up a fifty run stand to take the score to 70 from 12. After the initial start Palm Hills XI found it difficult to control the ball due to wet conditions owing to some drizzle. Beasts XI capitalised on this and took team total to 154. During the second innings it looked like we might have to play shorter game with Rain looming. After the initial loss of wickets Navneet and Harsh played brilliantly and took team to 63 from 8. At this time they were up in terms of DL method. But after their loss Palm Hills bundled out quickly for just 82. Man of the Match - Abhishek Singh Power Performers - Pushpender and Navneet Best Fielder - Vivek
